One popular saying that gets thrown around is that “High School Never Ends”.
Initially, you would think it would just be:
Work cliques full of Middle-Aged people
Water Cooler talks
PTA meetings
Country Clubs with Old people
There is this habit that media, Hollywood, and society have of downplaying the life of the Haves of the adult world compared to college and high school.
In high school, it is blatantly thrown in your face with the Haves being the Jocks and Cheerleaders and the Have Nots being the nerd no one wants to sit with.
In college, the Haves are the college athletes, fraternities and sororities with high status, and the Have Nots are the guys who can’t even get invited to any of the parties.
The Misconception Of The Adult World.
A lie that they sell to society is that once college ends, the popularity contests end.
Even the ones that do exist are between these middle-aged adults wearing khakis and collared shirts.
There is almost no discussion or in-depth view into the world of the Haves in the adult world and one can wonder what the main reason for that is.
One of the reasons the Popularity Contests were so blatant in high school and college was because of proximity.
The Popular and Attractive kids could not hide as easily because everyone was so close to each other.
They couldn’t hide the “hookup culture”.
This is where it all changes in adulthood.
Once everyone graduates, it becomes easier to hide the popularity contest and tell the world that people are too “mature” to care about:
How good you look
How fun of a lifestyle you live
How many women you can get
How lusted after you are
How popular you are
Close your eyes and go to sleep, there are no “Cool Kids”, everyone got a diploma and:
Got married
Got fat
Aged poorly
Had kids
Bought a house
Got a mortgage
The lives of the true Haves in adulthood is so amazing that there is a reason they keep hush about it.
One of the main reasons is because it has a higher ceiling than the lives of The Haves in college and high school.
One of the biggest lies you find is that society tells you that the Haves are these wrinkly old men with money when in reality, the Haves are also far better looking than not just you but in many cases, the Haves you knew in college.
So they tell society that “College is the best 4 years of life”, hoping the Have Nots do not discover how good they have been living.
Since they are The Haves, they control the narrative and what gets accepted as the truth out there.
Status talks, everyone else listens.
If they:
Sell you the boring house in the suburbs
Tell you getting fatter and unhealthier is the norm with age
Convince you that looks do not matter
Inform you that the “Popularity Contests” are “so high school”
Get you to believe that the Haves of the Adult World are just old farts with money
Then they have brought themselves a loyal worker drone who wears khakis and is overly reliant on that corporate job because that is “what everyone else is doing”.
You have nothing great to aspire to.
The Reality.
In high school, being the Have Not costs you your self-esteem.
In college, being the Have Not costs you networking opportunities and the chance to have “The College Experience”.
In the adult world, being the Have Not costs you:
Financially
Socially as you can have zero social life
Your sanity
Your health because you think being fat and aging poorly is normal
The potentially beautiful wife who can give you beautiful kids
Seat at the table with movers and shakers who determine the laws that are passed
A chance to be with beautiful women the world can dream of
The opportunity to impact the lives of millions if not billions of people
But most of all, it is this gut-wrenching feeling that when you are an elderly man on your death bed, you didn’t make the most of your life.
The Popularity Contests become higher stakes with more on the line.
In college, you could be a normal guy and still:
Have a social life
Maybe date a girl or two
Get invited to a party here and there
In the real world? Mediocre gets you nothing.
Mediocre men are sitting at home socially isolated and cut off from society.
This is why you hear so many men who are done with college complain about how:
Hard it is to meet women
Hard it is to make friends
Hard it is have a social life
Social life and fun do not exist
It’s the cries of the Have Nots.
In college, everyone had to put up with a guy they would otherwise not put up.
Most people were polite so it gave that guy a sense of belonging even though these people were “too busy” to hang out after college.
All because such men had mainstream society telling them that looks, popularity, status, and being an attractive man do not matter after college since everyone is “grown up”.
In reality, there was simply more on the line. The consequences for being a Have Not became far more severe and most men were blind to it.
The Lives Of The Haves.
In the adult world, the Haves have a far better than life than the Haves in college or high school.
The men who are in The Haves:
Can be Bachelors and get with beautiful women into a relatively older age (40+)
Have the raunchiest and most hedonistic parties with beautiful women and other men who are Haves (the Have Nots don’t even hear of these for a reason)
Go to events like world famous Film Festivals, World Cup Finals (with good seats) and regularly rub shoulders with celebrities
Ignore the suburbs as they can send their kids to private schools in big cities (if they decide to go down the family life route)
Matter and are in some way the subject of discussion whether people care what they are doing or what women they are dating
Age gracefully and objectively look better than most guys in college and their early 20s
Command respect from other men who are movers and shakers (and in the haves)
Are taken seriously when they step into a room rather than ignored
Get lucrative offers that they happily turn down
The list goes on but let me put it this way to where you understand, to such men, life is practically a beautiful porn flick.
It’s a Secret Society that stays secret for good reason but let me put it to you this way, every beautiful woman you meet in a big city is a part of it to some degree and the Have Nots are relentlessly kept out.
The society is not kept secret out of a sense of shame or judgment, it’s because the adult world vets between the Haves and Have Nots in such a brutal manner that the Haves are happy with the Have Nots thinking that the real Haves don’t exist.
In school, the Haves could not hide from the Have Nots.
In adulthood, the Haves do all they can to hide just how great their life is as the Have Nots age poorly, get fat, wither away, get stuck in miserable marriages, and feel life getting worse every passing year.
The popularity contest never ended, it just closed the door took itself to a private room the Have Nots do not get to be a part of.

Having been through this as a "Have Not", the hardest part was that I never had time or money for anything that I wanted to do.
The lifestyle you are discussing here is very real in major cities. And when I saw it for myself, I had zero desire to be social with anyone until I could easily expense anything fun
